Meropa has been a stand out figure on the Joburg streets arts scene for several years already. Born and raised in Soweto's Zola region, he has developed a unique style and brand of music that mixes traditional themes and idioms with a hip hop ethos and the undeniable pull of a solo acoustic guitar.

Meropa has appeared on stage and video alongside many of the country's biggest names, and in 2008 he recorded his first CD, Live @ Unity Gallery. The CD is being released in 2009 and you can buy it at the Unity e shop.
